Overall, Domo Exchange distinguishes itself as the first CEX to primarily focus on BRC-20 tokens, incorporating advanced technologies, providing diverse trading possibilities, and offering a dynamic infrastructure.

By catering to the specific needs of BRC-20 token traders, we aims to provide a unique and tailored trading experience within the BRC-20 ecosystem.

What is BRC-20?

A proposed token standard called BRC-20, which draws inspiration from Ethereum's ERC-20 token, was introduced in Bitcoin Request for Comment 20 by an anonymous developer named Domo in March 2023.

The BRC-20 standard aims to enable the creation and transfer of fungible tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain using ordinal inscriptions. Similar to ERC-20, a token standard establishes a set of rules that govern the functionality and behavior of tokens created on a specific blockchain.

Use-Cases of BRC-20

P2P transfer: Similar to Bitcoin, BRC-20 tokens can be utilized for peer-to-peer transactions between wallets operating on the BRC-20 blockchain network. However, since the BRC-20 blockchain is based on Bitcoin, transaction fees are denominated and charged in Bitcoin rather than in the BRC-20 tokens themselves. This means that users will need to pay transaction fees in Bitcoin when conducting transfers or interactions involving BRC-20 tokens on the network.

Tokenization: BRC-20 tokens can represent commodities like fiat currency and gold on the Bitcoin blockchain. JSON code enables users to define token characteristics and properties, such as supply and issuance rules, providing flexibility and customization in token design on the BRC-20 blockchain.

DeFi: BRC-20 tokens offer a promising future for the Bitcoin blockchain by enabling integration with decentralized finance (DeFi) exchanges, yield farming protocols, and GameFi. This brings growth, liquidity, and expanded possibilities to the network, overcoming the limitations of Bitcoin's rigid design.
